VENDING MACHINE/REGAINS
Okay, so what's this thing? ↴

I got an item that isn't mine - what do I do with it? ↴

Can we use our coins to opt out of death rolls? ↴
The vending machine near the foyer is surprisingly new, given the general level of tech in the Vault; it's pretty standard as vending machines go, but it's silver and shiny - and perhaps most importantly, it's here to give you stuff! ICly, characters will be rewarded for bonding with one another; these rewards come in the form of coins left in their room, somewhere that they'll be easily found. After that, it's just a matter of going over to the machine, sticking coins in and letting prizes fall out. Simple!
When do we get coins? ↴
Coins are awarded for every 20-comment thread (10 comments per person) submitted here. Any threads between two player characters that do not take place during investigations, trials and motive announcements are eligible for a coin. Threads with mod NPCs such as the Kingmaker are eligible for coins as well, but the one caveat to this is that private conversations and letters do not count – the thread must take place in public.

Glad you asked! We asked all of you to put five regains down on your app; this is where you have the chance to get them back. Of course, since nothing can ever be easy for anyone, RNG gets to decide how quickly that happens...
Of course, there's also a chance that the regain you get back won't necessarily be yours. That's also a distinct possibility that we won't deny. Good thing you're on such good terms with everyone here, right?
The percentages shake down something like this: You have a 10% chance of getting a regain – either yours or someone else's, every time you roll. There's an 80% chance you'll get something else. As for the remaining 10%...well. You'll have to roll and see what that remaining percentage might contain, won't you?

One out of your five items can be renewable – that is, they have the potential to fall out of the machine more than one time. They can be consumable things like food, candy, liquor or cigarettes; they can also be things like yarn, socks, rubber-band balls, whatever you like!
I got an item that isn't mine - what do I do with it? ↴
Whatever your character would do with it! Give it back, eat it, set it on fire, whatever you want. You might want to work it out with whomever it belongs to, but...really, it's your choice.
Can we stack coins to help our odds? ↴
Unfortunately, no. I mean, if you have a surplus of them and you want to shove them in the machine all willy-nilly then no one's going to stop you, but it's not going to increase your chances of getting a regain. Maybe you'll be rewarded for jamming in twenty at once, who knows. ...Or maybe you'll just screw up the machine. It seems about as sturdy as your average iPhone, it'll probably break if you look at it wrong.
Do our coins expire? ↴
You can redeem your coins whenever you want; in other words, the threads you submit don't have to all be from the current week!
Can we use our coins to opt out of death rolls? ↴
That, my friends, would be bribery, and it's highly frowned upon by the Kingmaker for various reasons (not least of which because that's no fun). If you can't be present for a given week that you've been selected to die, you can ask the mods to reschedule, but there are no true opt-outs or safety nets of that sort.

A stapler made for medical care. If you set specialized pins into it, you can close up any wound just like slammin’ a comic book shut.
